Developing Your Own R Package
Do you have some code or functions in R that you would like to make and distribute as an R package? Refactoring your R code as modular functions or organising your functions as an R package is a useful endeavour for scientific dissemination. Recognising research software as a first-class research output is currently a national agenda. In response, there are now several software awards that emerged in the last few years. To be research competitive, we should consider keeping abreast of research software development. The modern practice for R package development has rapidly changed in the last decade, owing to the development of several tools to streamline this process. Emi Tanaka will demonstrate some of these tools and the process of publishing an R package to CRAN if time permits. The notes for the demonstration are available here.
