About
Dr. Danh Tai Hoang’s research interests include, but are not limited to, developing machine learning and artificial intelligence frameworks to analyse biomedical data.
Under a strong collaboration with scientists at the US National Cancer Institute (NCI), Tai’s focusing on implementing deep transfer learning pipelines to advance cancer precision medicine (predicting which cancer treatments would be beneficial for individual patient). To do that, he is integrating big data resources across multiple modalities, including histopathological images, bulk and spatial transcriptomics.
Before joining the ANU, Tai conducted postdoctoral training in biomedical data science and machine learning at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), from 2016 to 2020. His research was devoted to developing data-driven approaches to improve predictive performance in the regime of small sample size (but large number of variables).
