OASIS: Science Centres and Institutes
The ANU is home to a number of Science Centres and Institutes, that together support and enable an exciting range of innovative and transformational projects. This presentation will highlight two such projects, within the Biological Data Science Institute and the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science.
Presenters:
Ms Elle Saber is a research economist and PhD student, working within the Biological Data Science Institute, the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Science and Statistics, and Data61 in CSIRO. Her work focuses on statistical methods for estimating heritability and genomic prediction using multi-omic data, and uses statistical models to produce results for research, government and industry.
Associate Professor Sujatha Raman is the Director of Research at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. Her work explores the contribution that science communication research and practice can make to science, technology and innovation in the public good. She has conducted transdisciplinary collaborative research on a wide range of global and national grand challenges including sustainable energy transitions, antimicrobial transitions, agricultural and biomedical innovation, and the environment/health interface in the global North and South
